| we waited outside the gate fingertips frosty emerged from knit holes. clasping. reaching. wanting in. the cold metal kindled our fire our passion our ardor for one arduous day we were hungry. we were desperate.
Our wages were won the battle began the days were arduous we missed the wanting the wanting in how we longed to be cold and pitied how we longed to be hungry for more
t h e l o n g i n g w a s r e a l l y h u n g e r d i s g u i s e d
we sought perspective with a stroll we asked for directions to the gate outside the gate we knocked the door opened and we returned weighing our wages.
the days were arduous, but the nights, remunerative rewarding rejuvenating.
and the hunger pains.... reminding.
we are desperate always

| So I have this routine of watching Friends reruns every night from 11-midnight as i'm preparing to fall asleep. I ask my roomate, Leanna "What do you think our friends are up to?" as I turn the television on. There is something about that show that makes me hopeful... hopeful for community. People eating together, sharing their personal items with one another, taking on each other's burdens. I read about the early church in Acts, and I miss college so much. I miss living with so many people who love each other and share dvds, clothes, food, and thoughts. I'm slowly building a community out here in Los Angeles, but my heart misses college so much. I use to read about the early church and think "living together, sharing things....that's what we need to be like for God... united!... united for his cause...spreading the gospel." but now i think of it this way... "we need community...period. And God knows it. We are his cause."
For some reason i stopped writing on here about 2 years ago. But my heart needs this. i'm coming back. xangaites... keep me accountable.

tonight we had an oscar party at the school. i won the 2-disk special edition of the departed, because i correctly predicted 15 academy award winners. I beat out the 2nd place winner by one oscar. It helped that i was informed about the smaller awards, like live action short. Thanks, West Bank Story.
| I've spent 8 hours on my cell phone this week. about 1 hour of that time were personal phone calls.
Today I researched production insurance for 8 hours.
I traveled to orange county 3 weeks ago to film my first movie. I needed a pool. It's hard to find a pool to shoot at in LA--you need permits for everything.
So for my second movie i had an idea. I need to immediately establish that my protagonist, picking up mail, is a college student. So, yesterday i drove out to UCLA's campus, walked up to the first frat house i saw with Big Greek Letters right over the door, knocked on the door and told the president that i would buy their house beer if they let me shoot there. I've got my second location.
oh, movies. more later.
